Reviews for Step Counter - Pedometer
It's great! I don't need wearable tech as long as I have my phone with me. It also doesn't need the gps on, which draines the battery life of my phone faster. It must use the phones accelerometer or triangulation from towers to calculate how many steps or something. The little workouts are nice too. There are a lot of caveats that come with this and it's absolutely free.
Love that you can pause the counter so easily, some of the apps I've tried make you do backflips. Has a sensitivity setting, on medium it's very good when in your back pocket (goes to extremely sensitive, haven't tried those). Can track multiple things like water intake, weight, bmi, how many miles you've walked and kcals you've burned. Layout is simple and straightforward, charts and graphs are easy to understand and implement. App is really only for tracking steps, won't have much else to do.
It gets the job done, shows me how much I walked so far today on the lock screen, tracks my daily steps, and that's what I wanted. The similar google app stopped working after a while (not to mention the strange downward step adjustments) so I needed one that's simple and don't stop working. This is all I ever needed. The achievement congrats/daily report messages are added bonuses. Edit: you don't need to open the app if you don't care about entering your data.
This pedometer works really well for me. It seems to be quite accurate and not only tracks your steps for the day but the total steps for the week in addition to tracking calories burned, distance walked and time it took. It's a great little device. One really great feature is the developers respect your privacy and will not go into your files!!! As advertised it doesn't use much power. I strongly recommend it to anyone who simply wants to know the aforementioned items it tracks.
This app would be great... if it didn't randomly erase the data. I'm doing a fitness challenge with friends and we're aiming for 2 miles a day. It recorded about a quarter of a mile while I was walking around campus to classes, then erased the other 1.5 miles I walked a few hours later with my dogs. This app cost me the challenge. Definitely don't use, it's unreliable and there are better ones out there!!!
