Arcade games are a genre with simplified game mechanics. Initially, arcades were created in slot machines, which were common in crowded places and made it possible to enjoy the gameplay. A typical early arcade game was a primitive rpg, shooter, or scroller (original Prince Of Persia, Pac-Man).
Later, with the development of computer technology and graphic capabilities, games of many subgenres began to correlate with arcades. For example, in the 90s, many classic fighting games of the “kill them all” format were considered arcade games (such series include the famous Streets Of Rage, Battletoads, Golden Ax, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles).
In the second half of the nineties and the first half of the 2000s, since the market was captured by game consoles, arcade games began to experience another rebirth and absorbed many other subgenres. Eg:
