Orbot: Tor for Android

Just now i thought this app was compromised. I kept receiving notification (sound) pings like someone was pressing a button over and over again. Freaked me out. I'm no longer going on deep dark web..

If you try to use it more than once, it will be stuck in an endless "Orbot is starting..." cycle, without ever actually starting. The notification shows as if it's in use, but it's just 0kbps upload and download the whole time. In my experience, this cannot be fixed without restarting your device.

This new version does not perform anywhere as well as the previous version. I've tried several ways and times to get it working. Takes too long to bootstrap, and at 100% always displays that 'Orbot Is Starting'. There are bugs that must be addressed. I erased the new version and reinstalled the previous version which works fine.

After update, the issue of Orbot randomly shutting itself off is still happening. Can't connect to several apps, which is the only "notification" that I get. And even though VPN is turned off, it's still running in the background. The key icon is showing on the notification bar and some websites can't connect.

This app is fantastic for bypassing firewalls but requires a lot of redownloading almost Everytime you turn it off. Aside from the self explanatory flaw you can easily bypass firewalls by turning on "share proxy interface with WiFi peers" and connecting the device to your phone with a hotspot. Overall a fantastic but can certainly use improvements.

It works very, very well on the first try for me, but after that, it doesn't want to work correctly at all until I clear the app data and restart it. Once some bugs get fixed, this rating will go higher, as *WHEN* it works, it really works well. It's just a matter of getting it to work most of the time at this point.

This app almost never works, whenever I try to vpn it slows down internet to the point it just doesn't work anymore. It rarely actually does anything right and mostly just doesn't ever load sites, it's been like this for years and they seem to never even bother fixing it, if this keeps up ppl won't want this app anymore so do something already, I mean geeze u have so many bridges that don't work.

After the latest update the app stopped being useful (it reported that it's connected to TOR, but the apps in VPN mode nevertheless seemed not connected to the Internet) until I rebooted my phone. Initially I was baffled until I tried rebooting. That reboot fixed everything.

It was 5 star till 5 days ago and then it stopped working as supposed to be and it never got better , there is a bug that needs to be fixed , will try in a other week if it it is still down , but like it to get going again , because privacy is all !!!!! Please , also keep the app simple , not fancy stuff , just doing the job , from the moment we got the update with the apps down the screen it started to run less and less good . KEEP IT SIMPLE !!!!!!!!! JUST WORKING AS SUPPOSED TO !!!!!!!!!!!!!

VPN mode always had a hard time being active when not connected to Tor, according to the always-on VPN setting, but now it will only be active with Tor connection, no matter what I do. It also seems to be limiting capabilities of some other apps now, even with both Tor connection and VPN mode turned off, that it wasn't doing before the last update.
