Reviews for Dare: Anxiety & Panic Attacks
Amazing app. I will upgrade to five star when it lets me Chromecast to my Google home audio devices making for easier meditation and and preparing for sleep. It is also having issues with me signing up on the FB group If you dont already have the book I would recommend starting there. The journal is great as well. I have the book on audio and paperback as I find both beneficial for different purposes. Putting it all together is really helping me find a holistic approach that is working.
I just started using this today and I truly appreciate the detail on depersonalization, as this is an area of anxiety that is incredibly scary at first and rarely talked about. Also the explanation of intrusive thoughts was thorough and gentle. I am giving it 4 stars because it would be helpful if the app saved where you are in the recordings and if the recording stopped when you get a phone call. These are just minor annoyances but would be helpful changes.
Edited: I have issues with the Daily Tracker. I get errors when I try to go back and access days I have already entered. When I try to contact you all through the support option, I get an error there, also: "unhandled exception". Love it. This app has been my partner at work to help me through moments of overwhelm. I have already referred two friends to the app, one who in turn let the people in their life that struggle with anxiety know about it.
This app is excellent...life changing.... Finally, a way out of the grim world of anxiety!! Wherever ever you are in the grips of anxiety...there is recording to get you out! No need to feel trapped, stuck, or hopeless, but rather empowered! Great explanation to help you understand the why of the exercises....and guide you to a life worth living!
Absolutely love this app. The only downfall is that it isnt completely free. There is a $9.99 monthly subscription, which I feel is a little pricey. If it was a bit cheaper I would absolutely pay for premium. The free products available are absolutely fantastic and have truly helped me control my anxiety. Edit: love that they have a program to help people pay that cannot afford the $9.99, unsure of how it works, but great idea.
The Dare app and book have been extremely helpful within the first week or so of using them. My Counselor recommended the book to me during a session and said it had helped him. The system helps a lot...I have had fewer episodes of anxiety and the ones I have experienced lasted only a matter of minutes vs an hour or more. Good stuff!
I absolutely love this app. I've been going through some large life upheavals and struggling with panic attacks as a result. Nothing new to me, but the intensity, duration, and frequency was becoming unbearable. Downloaded this in the middle of one just looking for any distraction. By the end of the first exercise, the attack had passed and I was able to quell the aftershocks as well. I know it's not him, but the guy sounds like David Attenborough, so that's what I call him in my head, lol.
This app has done a lot for me in beginning to overcome anxiety. It is a constant process but I am able to work on it and have support of a community. I would recommend the app to anyone. Even without a subscription the content is great. I purchased the audio book and find a lot of the audio is similar (at least in the beginning)
I suffer from debilitating anxiety and with the help of this app in combination with therapy and medication, I'm able to function again. I'm so thankful I found this app. I listen to it every day first thing. The narrator's voice is soothing and the words put me at ease. This app helps me to ground myself when I feel myself starting to slip into a panic attack and the affirmations remind me that my anxiety is a temporary superficial thing that will pass.
Has helped me immensely. Didn't know what was going on until my second panick attack. THIS was amazing to get me through that and many others during this last month. Would love an option on one of the exercises to have the first portion of counting down separate recording (not grouped) with the second portion. I try to skip half way through to the part that I feel helps me best- but that's frustrating and even seconds matter a lot sometimes. The "help having a panic attack" is the one.
