How to install Wear OS by Google Smartwatch

Update to Wear OS3 has bricked my watch
app can't be used, can't track watches.

I have the Fossil Gen 6 smart watch. After "upgrading" to Wear OS 3, I am unable to use the Wear OS App. Instead, I'm forced to use the Fossil App. It's disappointing because I prefer the Wear OS app and this feels like a downgrade.
Wear OS is a nice idea but in terms of applications it's butt. Just way too many places it falls short in terms of usability, apps, connectivity etc.I just wanted to swap my phone out for a temp use phone so I could do a repair on my main. Unpaired then re-pair simple? Nope now I gotta reset the watch and lose all the painstaking settings and watch face customizations I've so carefully put together. Also, there's no direct update from Wear app to watch. 😤
I thought this was for all type of watches before download, need a new app for my fitbit now
