This app already was on my phone so I set it up. Nokia g300 btw. I was very excited to have the call screen on my phone, problem is it doesn't work properly. I don't have the ability to use some settings in fact some settings that should be there are not, the automatically record transcripts setting isn't there. When someone calls they do get the Google call screen but when they talk I don't see any transcripts of what they are saying at all. I can send stuff back and u hear it but no return.

The Google phone app is amazing! Being able to have Google stay on hold for me and alert me when the other party has answered the phone is priceless. Also, the fact that it transcribes what is said and breaks up menu options into an ordered list with numbers makes it super easy to go through phone trees and make sure you choose the right option. I love this program... it just keeps getting better and better.

I've had nothing but problems with this service. My phone doesn't ring when I get calls even though I'm not blocking or ignoring the calls in the settings. text are fine but the phone service sucks. Now problems with voice mail, the screen won't light up when I go there, so it's useless. Had to take out reinsert sim, now it's better. Back with more phone issues the screen refuses to light up which makes this useless,

All my phone calls going to my voicemail. I have tried resetting the phone to factory settings three times and also checked with the mobile provider like a mobile. There is no problem from there end I changed the SIM to a cheap old phone and I start getting voice calls. I also tried putting it on the airplane mode and bringing it back but I'm having this issue again and again. Don't want to miss calls. Very bad. Very much, unlike Google.

I've long had issues with this phone app but lately it's much worse. I'm on a Pixel 6 Pro and calls rarely go through on the first dial, often disconnect. Also the phone declines some calls from known contacts. There is a huge connection delay on all calls, incoming and outgoing, so people I call or who call me end up hanging up because there's just dead air. It's embarrassing having to call a few times. Screen cuts out randomly during calls so can't use any other apps while on a call. It's bad.

Visual voicemail keeps crashing on my pixel 5 and I haven't had reliable voicemail for almost 2 years - that is terrible for a Google app running on a Google phone ... Terrible - I've been in contact with several people trying to figure out what to do - I am now updating and uninstalling the app whenever I want to use it ... Either the app is bad, the phone is bad - or the assistance isn't good enough ... I don't know which, but with no voicemail - you are kinda disconnected from the world.

Using this default phone app to obtain my voicemail works out well, and I'll stick with this; it is the phone's default way to receive messages. The Metro-PC visual voicemail app suddenly stopped working. I had to delete that voice mail app and now use the default phone app to dial voice mail. I do not need the visual voicemail app, which was fine until it prevented retrieving messages.

Never mind that Google is excessively invasive on their own. I can't help but notice the way the numbers look on my dial pad continually change. It's like it's normal when I clear the cache and delete everything, uninstall and reinstall. Everything looks normal. Maybe 2 minutes after that. Everything looks completely different. I know that I'm not changing the settings. I repeatedly switch it so that it can't display over other apps and yet here we are as it displays over other apps. Trash app.

I like the extra features that are part of the Google version of Phone. Unfortunately, 50% of the time phones calls are either muffled or distorted/robotic. Making it unreliable. So many times I have to end the call and try again, or restart the phone entirely. This doesn't happen with the built-in default Phone app at all. I want to use it for the extras, but I can't. This needs improvement. Motorola Edge 5G UW (2021), Android 11.

I want to inform you that your "Phone by Google" app has a bug where it resets the "display over other apps" setting to allowed every time it update. This has been quite an annoyance for me as I don't care for the bubble interface. Hopefully this can be resolved in the near future. Thank you. Edit: Clearing cache did not work. Oneplus 8 Pro actually just got Android 12 update and still no fix. The option actually disappeared from the app setting but the new global option doesn't work either.
