Reviews for Grow Empire: Rome
Drop my rating of a 4 down to a 3 because where I'm at now is impossible to get pass. I like the game, but you have to give a person a chance to get to the next level. I haven't even been playing that long and clearly can't go any farther. Also, cash doesn't build up correctly. Should definitely have way more when I log back in after being logged out the whole night. What a shame! Looks like I have to uninstall. SMH
This is game is pretty good for when you are bored and trying to waste time. This is also not that bad, but rather fun. However this game is a bit grindy if you're playing free, and it is a bit repetitive overtime. Of course though you can pay to progress faster and there are ads but not that bad. Since the upgrades are quite expensive as you progress, I'll give a 4 star. I'll change it to 5 if the upgrade costs are reduced whenever they update this again :)
I've sunk several hours into the game. It was addicting at first but at a certain point it becomes just grinding. I got through 230 waves, reached lvl 27, and in the 40s for the settlements. Uninstalling after about 3 days. It was kinda interesting the first 2-3 hours though. Here are the issues I had with it. • Lack of menus that shows what you're getting when upgrading. For example, upgrading the walls to certain levels gets you certain rewards such as a another tower (i've only gotten a total of 3) or bank or mission game. It does really tell you want you'll get. You just have to click on upgrade and see what happens. • After awhile, you the waves gets you around 5kish gold max. Thats not a lot when the stuff you're trying to upgrade can cost a couple hundred thousand. Thats why its getting grindy. • Completing the waves arent that satisfying. Each wave takes about 40 seconds on the fast setting. it seems like a set number of max units, since you get gold depending on how much you kill. Sometimes you've built up an army then the wave ends and you start over again. It gets old after awhile (a couple hundred times for me). •Theres also lots of ads but its a free to play game so its expected. Some ads also give you additional gold.
A very unique spin on the wave defense games. A simple and graphically well put together game. Entertaining but only in the short run, not something I would continue playing. Two thumbs way up for the fine craftsmanship, appealing look, and even though there is in app purchases they're not needed ie. After losing a battle, you still gain the exp/gold. And for that I applaud the devs.
I love it so far, my first ad was 2 waves after the tutorial, and then I started getting options to watch ads for gold. It seems like every 3-5 waves theres a force ad, which you can skip after 5 secs. Waves are nice and long, I don't like the Archery missions, also some clearificstion on how to shoot would help others. I figured out dragging up aims my bow down, and vice versa.
I am a die hard fan for Rome total war. And I do get bored of it sometimes. This is a good refresher that keeps me in the same sort of universe and it gives me something to chew on throughout the day. It allows you to conquer settlements and those settlements provide gold per a certain amount of time. It actually focuses on Rome itself and not so much the colonies which is good! The ads are great because theirs not so many it's one ad every ten waves. This is my first game review :>
A solid game I play everyday when I have a moment. It's a great idol game that combines cute and intricate elements very well. I love the authenticity of the unit names as well. My only issue is the bank where your money collects while not playing. It should be able to be accessible offline, otherwise, unless you keep the game on and running (I play it on an old offline phone), you can't make any money for upgrades and you hit a dead zone where you can't really make progress.
Spectacular game. No forced ads, no in app purchases required to progress, and it actually feels like you're playing a game, unlike most Mobile games these days. The pace of progression feels perfect, and the systems used to get gold and to level up are near perfect, as well as the way unlocking new things and upgrading is done. Phenomenal game, 10/10, I heavily recommend it.
I'd personally like to say this game has it's advantages. Although from most single lane army battles, I've seen more challenging components in other games. Currently been playing for about 2 hours. Not sure if this game is for you, but it kills time. I believe the game could have more components/ units and other things. Yet the game has a slow build to it, so it might expand. It might not. Still good tho. Personally I'd go with (Stickwar Legacy or Castle Storm)
Vary straight forward, but good for killing time. 4/5 stars Edit This game was good for killing time, but they have a difficulty lv jump that makes it not worth playing. I tried their mini game and the second mini game is impossible to beat without extremely good luck. The defence of your colonies isn't bad for lv 1 and 2, but when you go to lv 3 it is extremely difficult even after loving up your troops significantly. Don't put in the effort to go far in this game because you will not be able to really progress after a certain point without spending money in the game.
