Reviews for Files by Google
straightforward interface. Informs you what apps you have used and which ones have had little to no activity, useful when deciding to free up storage space. I just wish that I could delete many of the pre- installed apps that I never touch, they just take up space that I could use for more interesting apps.
I didn't install this app. I found it by noticing a junk load of files on my device I didn't download. 1,176 files the first time, to be exact. I caught hell trying to delete them, all were duplicates of stuff I knew nothing about. It took me 6 hrs to get them to trash and then deleted. I checked it 3 weeks later, it was over 700. The second time it was loads of duplicates of a particular game I don't like and would never, ever make a mistake and download it. Tired of this happening !!!!!!!!
The app have a MAJOR bug on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. With SD Card specifically. If you add, delete or copy/move a folder or file on Internal Storage everything goes fine. But if you did that on SD Card, the app won't refresh and show it, unless you entirly close the app and relaunch it. For example, add or delete a folder on SD Card, it will add or delete it, but it won't show or disappear in files list, you have to close and reopen. This bug since i used the app on Android 6.0, never fixed.
Umm uhh I know that it's a good app yet till the problems with guest mode and other things like non sufient data or very slowly feeding it the Rams very slow if for instance you are in say Facebook and clicked on a picture of someone that picture takes minute after minute to open last I'd checked I simply gave up on it opening. The data bars at top right. Only one visible usually five or more. This connection seems to be of at@t or same thing quality. I'd went several times into settings and adj
A good file explorer with lots of automated features and an extremely intuitive ui. I prefer a more straightforward approach that behaves like a file explorer with a little less hand-holding. Perhaps, if I could start from the browse section that would feel more conventional. Haven't tried yet but I'm hoping I can access my laptop via my home network.
Love it. Had my phone for a year now & always ignored the "storage space is running out, let's clean your phone out." Finally clicked on the notification and the way the app organizes my photos into categories like "delete... blurry photos / memes / duplicates / etc. " made deleting pics much less overwhelming and i finally did it haha. And it goes to the trash bin in case you delete something by accident. Very well done!
Google has messed up apps before, but not this one. It is so easy to use but covers a variety of issues. Sometimes I find stuff on my phone I had no idea was installed, and it never ever fails on making some space. You can be sure that whatever is cleaned you aren't going to lose your pix, or screw up your OS. My phone runs faster and better with the app, so good work google! I would recommend.
This is a very simple and easy way to get your phone to work better, faster and keeps it clean. This app gives you the option to go over your photos that you didn't see and are blurred or blank or something that you did purposely and you can delete them or keep them! It's just awesome in general! I always end up with Google's apps, sideby side so you can't go wrong! I highly recommend this app! Thanks Google!❤
The app ABSOLUTELY REFUSES to work properly. It's slow when doing what it's supposed to do, and glitches out my files simply by moving them from the internal storage to my SD card. And no matter what I do the app refuses to just do what it's supposed to do. Not only that but it's MY DEFAULT file app. It's inexcusable.
It's not the worse file management app but it needs improvement to dominate the app industry in its category. 1. It should allow folders to be included in the favorite section for easier access, not just files. 2. When moving/copying files the app should remember where files are located to avoid users having to repeatedly press the many folders just to reach the nearby target folder or atleast allow a folder in the favorite section to be selected as the target folder.
