Reviews for Sketchbook
For years, Sketchbook has been my favorite drawing app on Android, IPad and Desktop. It has natural drawing, blending, and painting tools. The minimal UI doesn't get in the way, and the painting tools behave much more naturally than Procreate and Photoshop (neither of which support Android). The blending and airbrush have no lag and don't hog up the CPU like other apps. I do wish Sketchbook had masking. You might argue that it's unnecessary, but it makes many workflows so much easier.
FANTASTIC. I use the free version and, while the learning curve is a bit steep at first, it is overall pretty intuitive and didn't take long to be able to use proficiently. This is the best drawing app I've used, and I especially love the amount and variety of "paintbrush" options. Once I get in a better financial place, I'll be happy to try the paid version.
Love this app! I normally use Ibis which is more popular but ths one is better overall. On ibis you have to watch an ad to get all the brushes and there's an annoying ad at the top that never goes away. Sketchbook doesn't have that issue and my drawings look better too. The only problem I have is that the touch senitivity needs to be better. Sometimes it doesn't react at all and I will have to restart it
I absolutly love Sketchbook and all the things it can do, drawing on it is really calming. But I am experiencing a glitch. Almost every single time I zoom in and out, it saves my drawing to the gallery. It's super annoying, espesically when I'm not even done drawing and I don't know how to get back.
I've used this app for a long time. I even had the paid for version before they made it free. It's a great art app! Butttttt they just recently changed what folder it saves my images to. And now for some reason I can't delete them if I want to. It won't allow me to. Please fix this, it's a 5 star app but I don't like saving things permanently.
I love this app, it really is a great tool especially if you like to make tattoo designs, my only issue is that the app often crashes and every so often I'll be in the middle of a piece and it glitches out half of my drawing. then when I go to reload the app it doesn't work, making me lose all my progress on my piece. but other than that, when the app works, it works very well.
It used to be 5 star, but the new update made it so hard to use. It now runs similar to the desktop, but when your using a phone, you don't want that. I wish their was a way to reverse the new update, it just took away the experience for me. The new palates were nice, but it's hard to use the color wheel. I liked the old set up with smaller pallets on bottom then a color wheel on top, it was a lot more user friendly. And looking through the gallery is so hard to get to now.
When i first got the app it was amazing, had a wide variety of brushes, etc. However after having the app for a little while my sketches keep getting deleted. It will show me the pre-view of my drawing, then when I try to open it, it just says "oops, failed to load" I thought it was just a one-time thing, so I let it pass. But it kept happening over and over again, ive now lost a majority of my drawings.
It's great, but sucks when using a stylus. I use an OASO capacitive pen, and for some reason there's a delay when using it, and it doesn't create sharp edges, only round. Sometimes it doesn't register when I'm drawing a line. Tried going into settings, couldn't find anything there. On the website, found out pen settings is only for IOS. Why is that only for IOS? That doesn't make sense to me. Also, it resets drawing sensitivity everytime you leave the app. I'll stick with Ibispaint.
It was fun, until it made me "switch downloaded sketches to another folder", this was very frustrating and I couldn't even play anymore since none of the folders would work. Before this happened, I also had a few issues. 1: The undo and redo buttons were hard to find, 2: My drawing from the first time I downloaded the app were missing, 3: Some of the options were hard to find, such as gallery, and the fill tool I recommend putting the undo and redo on the bottom without pushing any buttons.
