Reviews for Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver
Driving for Uber is great. The app is frustrating, especially when starting or rerouting, the gps in general (route taking, construction and blocked paths etc..) I also have accidentally accepted quite a few trips just trying to handle the phone. They call it "upfront address" but they give you cross roads you've never heard of, and you don't actually get an address until you passed it. Still all worth it so far though
Absolutely no live support options overnight for an app with an absurd amount of issues. The app can also pause your account if it asks you to take a photo to verify your identity and it doesn't recognize you, which of course I can't call support to fix since they're closed at 8pm. Guess I actually have to switch to Lyft, Uber clearly doesn't want it's drivers driving for some reason.
The navigation is horrible. Also, I've had to do so many order that were under my preferred dollar amount, because the orders pop up on the screen at the same time I'm using my phone so it automatically accept it. There should be a confirmation acceptance for those situations. Edit: certain wifi causes it to crash.
The app is a nice way to make money. But there are so many glitches. From not receiving reservations to no surge spots coming up on the map and that's how we make most of the money. Another concern is why does uber regulate the amount of tip a customer can give you? It makes no sense I had a driver that wanted to give me a 200 dollar tip and was not allowed to. It should not be up to uber to determine how much a passenger wants to tip a driver. I hope they fix this issue. And fix the glitches
The map takes us to the wrong houses sometimes. Bad roads...like narrow dirt roads that cars shouldn't go down when there is a paved option. It pronounces roads wrong. We should also have the option to change the voice on the app. To like Batman or celebrity voice, Elmo...that would be fun! Oh and make the map satellite view please!
"Opportunities" is a waste of time. 1st, you need to sign up for these cuz it is limited openings on first come, first serve basis. 2nd, you are restricted to a certain map border. I would be signed up, planted within the borders, and I get trip requests (pick-up and/or drop-off) outside of the borders and don't get the bonus. Lyft's bonus times are more effective; no need to sign up and no map restriction. Uber, competition breeds innovation. Get on it.
The app is stealing destination filters. It says I have 2. I use 1, it says I have 0 remaining. This issue has been going on for a month. Support is no help whatsoever. FIX YOUR APP! Being able to pick destinations is vital for drivers to be able to work when and how they need to and this problem needs to be rectified.
Trips are awful for the most part, except for the occasional busy moments. There are far too many $1-$2 trips. After reading all the news about Uber losing money for their investors, I'm confused. Why don't you have an order minimum? Those people probably aren't the ones spending the big bucks with your app. Btw even after making an effort to both message and call to address the matter, I have not been paid for an order. $85 worth of free food for someone.
as a driver, the app for the most part works ok. the biggest issue is the navigation portion itself. does not like rerouting, doesnt always use quickest route, navigation voice is quiet, and if the business is in a strip mall with other businesses, tends to be inaccurate. Also the app does let the customer screw the driver by removing tips for no reason so be wary. As the driver nothing you can do about it but take it.
The support team can simply lie and close your issue as they wish. I've been sidelined by the app for two weeks. Despite seeking help close to 20 times between chat and calls, my issue keeps being marked as resolved while each person I talk to says my issue will be escalated once I hang up the phone. I've never dealt with anything like it!! Surely there are others??
