Reviews for Shadow Fight 4: Arena
Thank you Nekki for this game, I've been searching for a good fighting game for a while. The graphics are great, and the different fighting styles are awesome. For those that are new to it this game like any other good fighting game will make you "throw your phone out through the window". My biggest issue playing this game is when playing "special festival tournament"...the whole player matching system if bad.. 3 vs 3 lvl 4 where you can tell that the opponent has stronger fighters. Please fix!
The combat is pretty decent, and the combos are as well. Not many combos to do but that's alright, it's still enjoyable. Yes, here and there the connection in the game tends to lag, but that's about all the problems I have with this. I can see how it can become pay to win, but I haven't spent a dime yet and I'm able to win most of the time. All characters have different fighting movements and shadow abilities so learning them takes a little while. Matchmaking can also take up to rarely.
I enjoyed the game up until last night. Once I entered June's plane I hated it. I can't upgrade the weapons I use. Only low rated ones. So it doesn't only hinder the story mode, but also facing other people. I find ways to beat stronger opponents online, but they keep getting stronger and I have to stay the same. I don't want to be forced to use terrible weapons or have to pay for shadow energy to upgrade those terrible weapons. I am extremely disappointed and won't be playing the game anymore.
This is a fantastic game. The only real downside is it's sometimes a bit bad with internet. The controls are fluid and combos are fun. From what I've seen, the heroes are mainly very balanced and the matchmaking is beyond great. The progression is just right, and I've seen a lot of critical reviews hating on easily preventable issues like how they can't dodge the shadow attacks. (Hint: rolling is a thing.) Or also how they can't do anything after they're knocked. (Hint: you can kick to recover.)
This is a great game that has potential. I have a few suggestions: 1.) Fixing the matchmaking. Sometimes you fight inexperienced people and at others professional players which makes it hard to win multiple times. 2.) Fixing the dodging. The dodge function sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. This makes it difficult get your self unpinned from the wall. 3.) The game is unstable. It lags and disconnects often and the controls don't always register.
I love the game. The graphics are smooth and look nice. But one issue I have is the combat system. I feel like it could be more responsive to the player without losing that tactical feel your going for. It just feels slow and timed and makes it quite boring. Also a leaderboard system would be nice to see where people place. Love where this is going.
A fighting game with an absolute metric ton of problems. 1. Constant lag in the US even on wifi with >100 mb/s speed. Emphasis: Constantly. 2. Automatic defeats BY THE SYSTEM because of your connection. 3. This is a fighting game that QUEUES actions. Causing your character to act like a spastic if you hold down your phone .1 seconds longer than intended. 4. Lag is in built to the controls, go ahead and pull up a training match vs ai and just move left and right and you will see for yourself.
Very good game I would like to see more skins characters and competitions also friend requests. But graphics are good and gameplay I really enjoy it. I would also like to add that alot of other people think the game is broken but it's not. The Ai are challenging but easy enough to beat and you can easily stop someone from spamming. You just gotta know how to play.
I love the game, I recommend it as a must have game for any mobile phone, and if you have the Galaxy Fold3, the experience is that much better. The only reason I'm rating it 3 stars is because of the server issues. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the all several times, I have changed my network modes between 5G, 4G and Wi-Fi with no luck. It's a little frustrating considering I subscribed to the season pass and have only been on to play every now and then because of the server issues.
EDIT: The recent balance update has made this unbelievably unplayable. The game has had multiple network matches that made me lose due to another players connection and the difference in the abilities in the characters has rendered any "balance" to be false. Its a great game. Fun to pass the time, but its pay to win + if you make it to higher level games be ready to get camped out, blocked, and have others use unblockable heavy attacks to counter any aggression you try to give your opponent.
