Reviews for Microsoft Translator
Very robust app. Everything works as expected. Can you guys add features to help people transcribe? I have times where I need to listen without speaking and using the Single tanslation feature is cumbersome when I have to keep pushing the microphone button while focusing and paying attention to the text. They had a similar feature in Google Translate with their Transcribe feature.
I needed an English-Mandarin app for travelling. I just installed this app after almost going crazy with frustration using Pleco. It took me only 15 stress-free minutes to test all the features and actually understand how to use them. I mistakenly didn't give the app microphone permission, and had to go to their online help screen, but actually found the answer there, so all is well. The only thing I can fault so far is that it's not really clear if the spoken "Chinese" is Mandarin or Cantonese. If it's not the spoken language I need, I'll just fall back on the written Chinese (which is the same in both Mandarin and Cantonese). I'm still giving this app five stars because it was so simple to get up and functioning well.
An OK translation app, I guess. It's beautifully designed and works OK. One problem is that there's no Microsoft login, so it doesn't tie into the translation app on your Windows desktop and so you can't sync your history. There's also no history. Another thing missing is handwriting support, particularly for Chinese characters. And would it kill you to make it work in landscape mode?
Hindi to English is somewhat inaccurate and vise versa. Works much better than Google Translate. Please try to work on improving accuracy. Also add a means to have a permanently setup conversation so you don't need to connect every single time. If language is a barrier then don't add another barrier by making it more complicated. Why not be able to add a friend /contact and then be able to communicate with them whenever from wherever. Other than that I'm very hopeful for this app.
