Reviews for OpenVPN Connect – OpenVPN App
Generally great, very fast and reliable connection. However the lack of support for split tunnel (i.e. don't route the local network) is a huge miss. Even an imported profile that sets "don't route.." still tunnels all traffic. Fix this (and add the ability to edit profiles) and this would be number 1.
I loved this app but once the new Android OS came out and locked up the permissions to media only you can't load the 4 needed files to make it work. Tried changing the 4 file suffixes to .mp3 and that got me through a quarter but could not get the 3 other needed files. Contacted Verizon, they tried, then they referred me to Samsung who tried but said it may be fixed in the next version of software. Developers of OpenVPN please change input routine to allow the 4 files to be .mp3!!!!!!
Shows connection as being active yet all apps on the device behave as if they have no internet connection. I know this is not an issue with my VPN server so I am assuming something is wrong with this app. Shame as it used to work flawlessly.
Rating app 1 star. The app (on both Android 7.1 tablet & Android 9 phone) randomly loses all VPN profiles every few days. Profiles must be manually reentered. I run with about 20 VPN profiles. When re-entering a profile app says the profile already exists and prompts to overwrite it. I've already been in contact with Support- the case went nowhere. Support seemed to be working off a script, asking me for increasingly irrelevant information, never seemed to focus on problem. Support response?
Can't load the ssl keys. I try to load the vpn file and it thrown an error that it can't load the test keys. We'll it didn't prompt me for them... and I can't access the system location it is calling to drop the files where it wants. So the app is useless.
