Installation
When unpacking the archive with the file, you will be prompted to enter a password
- Download the XAPK installation application, e.g, APKPure or File Manager .
- Open the downloaded XAPK installation application and locate the downloaded XAPK file.
- Follow the instructions in the application to install the XAPK file.
- Allow installation from unknown sources: Go to 'Settings' > 'Security' (or 'Biosecurity & Safety') > enable 'Unknown sources' or 'Install from unknown sources' for your browser or file manager. On newer smartphone models, permission is requested when the individual file is installed and no unnecessary steps need to be performed..
- Install the APK file by following the on-screen instructions.
- Restore security settings by disabling permission to install from unknown sources.

This is a great SMS app, the best available as far as I am concerned. Been a long time user. I do have one issue currently and I saw another reviewer with the same experience. When I try to send or receive MMS text or pictures the app just flashes and goes back to the home screen. After a few tries the app will need to be force closed. Please advise if you need additional information from me..... Great response and the fix worked!
I have numerous devices, and I have used Handcent over 10+ years, and it's just as great, if not better than it ever was. Being that I just installed it on this device under a new email account, I had a couple questions, which I thought were issues, and the support team was rapid in responding and giving me the correct instructions on how to proceed. Easily a 5+ Star ago for it's functionality and support. Handcent is the best!!!
