Reviews for Firefox Lockwise
It seems to do exactly what the browser does: save passwords. However, it uses phone level of security (pattern/fingerprint). I'd like the option to use a stronger level of security with this than my phone lock does. It doesn't let you edit or add passwords, just view them. So this seems to add risk without adding benefit
I have been using this app for over a year. It took a while to go through all my passwords and change them so that they weren't all the same but once that was done it has worked flawlessly. It works great within Android and integrates with my fingerprint. It also works on my iPad and of course syncs with all devices using Firefox. Excellent job. I would like to see the addition of a password generator to the app to make it a 1 stop shop.
Was great when it used to work. Haven't been able to use it as all for over a month. Refuses to sync, doesn't prompt anymore on websites or apps. How did they break it so hard and are still taking so long to fix it? Whatever the issue is, i hope they get it figured out soon. Otherwise might be forced to abandon my Firefox ecosystem altogether.
Overall, I really like Lockwise. It keeps me from having to remember passwords (as i have many) and fingerprint login makes it easy for me to access my passwords. I hate to say it needs a bit more attention to some of the functionality. I.e searching, when I tap the icon, the text box and keyboard pops up but immediately exits out. A bit frustrating to scroll through hundreds of passwords to get to the one I'm looking for. Besides that small detail and a few I didn't share, it's pretty great.
Used to be pretty good as a basic password manager and stable at least, but has been crashing very frequently for a month now after moving through several different screens. Unless this is fixed, I recommend that the manager built into Firefox be used to manage passwords, as this version is too prone to crashing. If this is fixed, i will update this review.
I love being able to sync my passwords, but they were syncing fine between FF browser on my desktop and Android. Then this came along and didn't really explain I'd need a separate app going forward. I got everything all sync'd anyway, so no big loss...but because of the weirdness in the integration, I give this 3 stars for now.
As others have reported. Syncing lasts indefinitely in some cases. Additionally, the feedback tool does not function, and crashes the app if you elect "fill in the blank" option. You cannot "name" any password with a friendly name, and autofill on the OnePlus 7 Pro does not function. This app is not usable in its current state.
I never thought I wanted a password manager, but since I use Firefox I decided to give it a go, and it's super convenient. I will say it would be nice if it was a little smarter, for example when I open my banking app I have to manually search for my login, because it doesn't know that my login for the website is the same as the app. Also, since I installed this app I've noticed a small bug where in some apps I get a pop up saying "null" everytime I open the keyboard.
This app is great, but it COULD be better! I know this app/service is like having a digital journal of all your passwords, but like a journal with a padlock, the contents are still easily accessible with brute force; or at least, that's how it appears to us. In addition, a journal by itself can't generate passwords either, which would be an AMAZING feature, if added. Also, if Mozilla ever falls prey to a data breach, just how secure are our passwords anyway? I'd really like to know!
Simple and syncs with devices through my Firefox account which is convenient. There's a weird bug since the new OS update where the word "null" keeps appearing on my keyboard, so I had to disable autofill. I haven't used a password manager before Lockwise so I don't have a comparison, but it otherwise serves my needs. There's a password generator on desktop and I would like that feature in the app. Probably needs an update since June. Please don't abandon Lockwise!
