Reviews for F-Stop Gallery
Bug found: the Places view ignores the hidden folder settings. Also, developers never responded to requests. :/ Original review: The best image viewer and organizer I have found. To the developers: could you add a configuration option to the "Rating Panel", so we could add a dedicated button at the bottom to metadata organization tools like Tags and Title for faster (1-click) access?! Thanks!
One of the most frequently and satisfactorily updated applications I've ever used. Bugs are fixed extremely(!) promptly and I haven't encountered a new feature that didn't have a toggle to return it to the previous behavior if I didn't like it or it didn't play well with my phone. Also, its features are comprehensive and play nicely with IPTC tools. Sorting menus are available when using it as a photo picker for other applications... huge plus!
Love the UI, love the albums and nesting!! Love the ability to tag, however I've been unable to create my own tags - they fail to save. Work-around by using pre-existing tags, then editing. Not that big of a deal, but would rather it be less cumbersome. Love that you can link to cloud service, but need more cloud options: 5 stars when you add OneDrive and fix tagging. Overall, best gallery I've used.
Decent but be careful, you can lose all your photos. I decided to delete a folder I'd just backed out of, but it decided to default to the main camera folder and deleted every pic on the phone. Went into the recycle bin, but that's just for looks and was empty. I'd rather not have an option to delete a folder if things like this are possible.
There's no way to customize which images are used for each folder's thumbnails, you can't even ask it to pick the 4 most recent photos in each album, it seems to pick them at random which to me is a glaring oversight when there's otherwise quite a lot of customization to be had in the app. Also apparently one of the only gallery apps that won't let you rotate images with two fingers.
Probably the best Gallery replacement apps on the Play Store, and I've tried a lot of them. This one has a lot of features, and doesn't have an excess amount of unecessary permissions. This app does have a explorer like interface if you go pro, and a true black mode for those with amoled screen to save battery. I really have no complaints about this app. go pro, it's worth the price, you won't regret it. Overall rating 5/5 stars.
The pro version is about the least friendly least intuitive app I have encountered in a while. The nesting function is useless as this thing displays everything so it is totally impractical to view photos. Plus you cant move folders to create subfolders. Words are not enough to describe how useless this is . Why the high rating. It's like gallery with a layer of complexity.
For me the ability to use gestures or multi-touch inputs to rotate pictures (a feature in quickpic, and now in simple gallery and memoria) And now the feature I'm missing the most from quickpic is the ability to "edit" a photo directly within the app, and immediately have the option to share this edited version without actually saving it to the device first. I use that a lot to crop things on the fly and send them right away without cluttering my storage with cropped photos and full duplicates
Awesome app. One issue is the lack of the support for the biometric authentication. Another minor request is to choose different folder to exclude, e.g. when I chose a folder and hit exclude, there would be an option to choose its upper level folder to exclude. It'd be very useful to batch exclude on the fly a folder that contains hundreds of subfolders.
No more album artwork clutter!!!!!! Thank you so much for making my photos once again navagatable. I have 1,000's of album covers and every other app I've tried won't allow me to select folders to include BEFORE using the app (and automatically adding everything I don't want). *****This app does request initial access on start up, I denied it twice until I got into Settings>Main>Included folders It's such a relief to only see 7-8 albums instead of 1,000's... Thanks again, F-Stop.
