Reviews for Canon Print Service
This app is finicky however I can usually print without any issues. It takes a few seconds for it to connect but then the printer icon lights up. I have the option to choose the # of copies, which of the pages I'd like to print and the choice to print in color or b&w. I also like that I can choose to save it as a PDF. I believe there's another app that will work with this app to give me more options, I just haven't looked into it as of yet. All and all, it gets the job done!
Used this app to connect to a very old printer. It was slow connecting or waking up the printer on first use of the day or print session. Sometimes I'd have to close the print menu and reopen to get the printer to become active or no longer grayed out. Once it was awake and ready, it responded within a few seconds. Trying to use other functions on the printer, scanning for example, was a pain.
This is a good app however there is still a bug that appeared in the October update. Everything was fine until that time. Turns out that on some Canon machines despite correct settings, when you print directly from a webpage, you get a shrunken landscape image in the top right hand corner even though the settings are clearly on portrait. Both on the app and also the machine. If they fix it. Then happy days.
Yeah, it's a decent software, but it has it's fair share of problems that I could notice from a first try. For starters, using a PIXMA G3400 printer, it's a bit slower compared to when I print from a computer, also, when printing from Drive it does not allow documents to be printed 2 sided which is a deal breaker for me. In rest, I don't think there are any other issues.
This is not for serious legal documents or contracts. I am buying a house and the paperwork keeps getting messed up while printing. The preview on my tablet shows everything fine but when it prints words overlap, words on the edge are cut off, and the spacing of words is altered compared to the preview. I've realigned the print heads, adjusted the horizontal setting, and made sure I have the correct paper selected. Nothing has helped.
Now, so..so I used this app for about a year or so, not really sure. But, now it has come to have bugs and not work. I think its time to dump canon and find something more reliable. I need to know I can print and not waste time with unexplained errors. I do t have time to research through canons entire line up of products EVERY time there app has a glitch. Disappointed in what use to be a great app! For the drastic decline in reliability and performance I have yo leave a 1 star as I scramble.
What? You send my document through a bunch of servers before it goes to my printer?!??! This is absurd. Why can't it just connect directly on my local network? I'm sick of unnecessary layers of "cloud" interaction for what should be a local operation. No wonder security problems are so common. On the plus side, it does allow printing from my phone, but I doubt that I will ever use it given the security and privacy issues it appears to introduce.
This app doesn't allow any centering or manipulation of photos prior to printing; therefore, I was forced to end the task and manually crop the photographs multiple times until they were in a suitable-enough-to print position. Portion of the image will not print unless it is perfectly cropped; thus a waste of time. Also, I attempted to print photographs larger than 5x7 but kept getting "blocking" errors. I trust this app doesn't allow its user to print large-sized photograps.
I installed this awhile ago so i could print from my phone. It worked once, and has since disappeared. I just reinstalled it. Now the only thing i can do is uninstall. There is no icon on my phone and there is no open option from the playstore, which says its installed. Horrible. Thanks for making sure my kids cant get paper copies of their schoolwork during this crisis
Not "quick and easy" or functional... Installed the app. Upon opening the app, a static instructional page is displayed telling me to print from outside the app. Moving on to print a document, I select the canon option that now appears from the list of printers and get a nearly blank screen asking for the printer's IP address (unable to be detected itself from it's WiFi function) Searching Canon's troubleshooting page, I end up printing out a configuration page from the printer's menu, and I type in the IP address from a sheet of paper. The confirmation button stays greyed out. My only option is to cancel and delete the app. Because apparently it's just a waste of time.
