Installation
When unpacking the archive with the file, you will be prompted to enter a password
- Download the XAPK installation application, e.g, APKPure or File Manager .
- Open the downloaded XAPK installation application and locate the downloaded XAPK file.
- Follow the instructions in the application to install the XAPK file.
- Allow installation from unknown sources: Go to 'Settings' > 'Security' (or 'Biosecurity & Safety') > enable 'Unknown sources' or 'Install from unknown sources' for your browser or file manager. On newer smartphone models, permission is requested when the individual file is installed and no unnecessary steps need to be performed..
- Install the APK file by following the on-screen instructions.
- Restore security settings by disabling permission to install from unknown sources.

More stable and reliable than many others. I've been through the ringer with android antivirus apps and am sticking with Bitdefender because so far it's been stable, fewest oddball issues and simple to use. All the apps' auto renewal systems should be trashed because the business side of Android apps can't seem to make them work smoothly without angering almost every user!
I love Bitdefender but I want an option to stop scanning. When it scans apps on my phone while I am doing important work, it takes up a lot of processing, causing my phone to lag, things to not be sent properly and more time to be taken doing things. This is exceedingly frustrating when it decides randomly it wants to scan in the middle of a meeting call and I am trying to take notes and watch the video feed. As soon as it stops scanning everything works fine.
App lock is inconsistent. Frequently doesn't require password when opening an app for the first time after screen has been off. 3/5/22. App lock remains inconsistent. And now I get a frequent popup notice that says we protection was disabled by another app but doesn't tell me which app it is. No easy method to contact Bitdefender. I probably won't renew my subscription.
Bitdefender app keeps turning itself off. I've done everything suggested to fix the issue with the Smart Manager, permissions and not optimizing battery usage and it will turn itself off less than 20 minutes after turning it on. It isn't working if it's off. Don't know what else to do to make it stay on.
