Reviews for Amazon Prime Video
This is a very great app. And it is fully loaded with movies and t.v. shows. Plus when you watch something it keeps track of it so it can offer you more of what you like to watch. I am super happy that I installed it. And also in my experience with this app, I haven't had a lot of ads pop up like with most other apps. Easy to use and fast response. Great experience all around.
It was a pretty good app, I used to be able to rent video's through my tv or on my phone through this app. Now I have to go to the Amazon WEBSITE (not the convenient app or prime video app) to rent a movie. Seriously considering canceling my prime account as movie was the main reason for prime. It also used to have the option to click a tab and all included shows and movies would be displayed (since that was convenient Amazon did away with that option). Sometimes updates are not a good thing!!!!
While there are good free movies on here. There are also a ton that are on free apps as well. Sure most on here are commercial free atleast. But tons of what I call garbage just like what you get on the free apps for movies. Also it ticks me off they have say a show on here. But only 1st season is FREE! sure prime doesn't just offer movies, also music, and ebooks (but only certain ones for free), besides the 2 day shipping. Which I'm not using that much. I'm considering going back to Hulu!
This app is perfect for buying and renting movies but the only three complaints I have is that you can't buy/rent movies on the app. You have to go to the Amazon website to buy the movie/shows and that is really annoying!! Also I hate that it doesn't have the option to create lists for your movies/shows. And the interface is a mess
I'm not at all impressed that they no longer allow the ability to rent/buy through the prime video app. You can't even do it through the Amazon app anymore. You have to open Amazon in a standard internet browser window just to complete the transaction and then switch back to the prime video app. Who's stupid idea was that?
This app is good overall, but the lack of newer movies, shows, blockbuster hits, is apparent. Also, the occasional drop of a show you're watching that goes from free to disappearing or that you have to now purchase should be communicated better so that you have the opportunity to finish watching the show before it goes away. Though the latest issue is either with this app or the update to Android 11. Watching a movie or show now freezes or hiccups every now and then and is really aggravating!!!
Really liked the app prior to this most recent update. Have no idea why they make you come out of the app into the site on your browser to search for a movie title all over again just to rent/buy when the previous setup right in the app was so convenient. I'm sure it's going to lead to alot less rentals and purchases just from the unnecessary hassle. Definitely went from better to worse.
Every time a video starts the audio description starts, even after having previously turned it off, and it doesn't even show that audio description is enabled. So I have to turn it off and back on to get it to stop, even just when switching to another app for a moment then starting the video again. It's kind of infuriating.
Fix for a 4star... "audio description subtitles"glitch for downloaded content. It defaults to it everytime you open the app and select content that you have downloaded. Also when you select the subtitle settings it shows that it is "english" not "english audio". It confused tf out of me and took forever to recognize the bug/glitch. You have to select the already "highlighted" normal english subtitles, to get the narrator person to stfu and get the text only subtitles to work properly.
I have the Prime Video app on my Smart TV, that's where I buy and watch everything and it all works perfectly fine. This app on the other hand is just awful. Both the main Amazon website and the app refuse to show anything under "My Stuff" despite having purchased over 20 movies. For some reason I can only view them on my Smart TV.
