Reviews for Wallet: Budget Expense Tracker
This app is reasonably useful... we use it without bank syncing... that weirds me out and also, we seem to make a million little purchases a week and I would hate for it to get muddied up. Now.. I've had this app for 11 months.. It's sort of difficult to learn; there are so many functions. The biggest problem I have, is sometimes bills don't show up monthly, even if they are set to monthly renewal. This is a nearly monthly problem... I have to delete and enter it again.
So far, so good. First, I wanted a VERY simple, secure, free app to track small business income in categories, with templates for common transactions. Second, a quick way to record cash purchases. This looks safe and straightforward. It was easy to create and use templates. I only want bare bones, so what I love so far is Wallet is LETTING ME take out all the extras. UPDATE: I have been using Wallet for a year and I am very pleased! It has worked flawlessly and been easy to customize. Thank you!
I love that this app doesn't try to make you sync a bank account as soon as you sign up. I only wanted this for goals/budgeting, so I can't review the other parts of the app, but I love watching my goal get closer as I add more money. It's currently helping me save for three expensive things at once!
Wallet has everything I want And Need, including a web app! Czech Republic app😁; Started using this Wallet app after discovering 1money was Russian ☹️. Bought the lifetime licence and just finished translationing data, took an hour or so. Very intuitive and easy to learn; I'm very impressed. I don't use the bank sync because none of them work all the time on ANY app. However, it is easy to start out that way. I made custom categories (rename main, hide ones you don't use).
The app is useful and helps me be more mindful of the money I'm spending. I wish it was more easily integrated with bank / credit card accounts. A quick tutorial on the use of Wallet would be very beneficial, especially when it comes to setting things up for the first time. Also, if someone is into stocks, it would be awesome if this app could track the current worth of your portfolio. Lastly, how about a time tracker for working people to track hours worked and approximate the amount of income expected on next paycheck? For hourly workers, this could help manage planned income so that budgeting for the future is more meaningful. I would really like an "one app that does it all" app, although it may not be realistic. Bill pay would also be nice. UPDATE: I'm not having a lot of success with connecting accounts. I connected my credit card account, but the records only go back but so far when they are added, resulting in a credit card balance that is completely inaccurate.
Just what I needed. Only app I've found that shows your total balance minus expenses as opposed to monthly income minus expenses. For monitoring how your spending affects existing accounts, with or without income, this is the way to go. I had been budgeting in Excel but this is a clean upgrade. Would happily pay about $10 for the full version but I don't think it's worth $50. Glad they don't restrict too much in the free version. I recommend trying it - not like every other budgeting app thankfully.
All in all it's a very good app. I do wish it would allow me to make a future expense, income, and/or transfer directly from the top. Instead it makes you scroll to the bottom and select show more in the upcoming payments section and then add it. Still at least you can do so unlike some apps. Also its offer for 1/2 price premium is locked in for a yearly subscription which it actually charges you monthly for, at a reduced price than its monthly payment.
Easy to use, intuitive design, customizable, and it won't overload your device with notifications. It didn't have my bank available for synching (I use a small local bank), but it's very simple to just manually adjust your balance as you go. I highly recommend this app for anyone who's looking to track their expenses, understand where their money's going, create and follow a budget, or trying to save up for a goal.
So, I love the app. I had a record I kept track of myself, but with life and all, I've lost time to do so. Thanks for allowing me to keep my records up! An issue though: On my linked bank account, it appears to be duplicating records that haven't been cleared yet. I have three or four records of the same purchase that are throwing off my budget totals. I'm apparently $50 over budget when I should be only around 70%.
Edited review: it duplicates entries, then randomly adds them back in. I submitted a ticket over a month ago and it's not fixed. The reason for the change in my review is because now the app will not delete the duplicates, so the account balances are all off. It makes the app pointless to me. Great app. There are a couple of bugs but overall, it's a great tool. I had an issue a couple of months ago, and the support team answered quickly and the issue was fixed in the next update.
