Reviews for Functional Ear Trainer
Instant results! The description says it'll take a couple months so see results, I say I'm on day 2 and my aural perception has noticeably improved. To be fair, I'm not completely tone deaf, and I did have some practice from previous efforts to better recognise harmony, but still! If you're on the fence about this being "just another of those darn interval training apps", let me be the one to tell you: This is WAY better than anything I've tried so far -- including a $300 course I paid for
If I decide to write a review people will think I was paid to do so, keep it up, this is the only useful ear training app( especially for beginners) you would find online
So so helpful. I'm amazed
demands concentration. Great learning tool
Simple but good
Excellent for drilling mult octave/key tone recognition, which leads to pitch dictation. Has excellent adaptive quizzes that identify weak points and rectifies them.
I am learning piano and music theory as an adult, and in about 30 minutes I went from not being able to identify notes to being able to hear the basic C-Major scale in my head AND identify notes in that scale by ear. It also has taught me about why resolutions can both go up or down (because it's resolving to the closest tonic/root note of the key, i.e. C in C-Major). So far, I'm very pleased with the user experience, and I very much appreciate being able to change the UI to fit my needs.
Hands down the best feature of this app is the ability to create your own lessons. I was having trouble recognising chromatics and simply created exercises that only brought those to my hearing. Definitely recommend, you'll see progress in being able to recognise notes from a tonic just practice at least 5-10 minutes per day.
For years I've been looking for an easy way to learn the notes, this app is the best thing that has happened to me in this regard, I am very impressed with the results I've seen so far, thank you so much for this
It's just basic drills but if you want to train your pitch I think basic drills without frills is the best way to focus. I use it.
