Reviews for Today Weather:Data by NOAA/NWS
After this Dark Sky thing, I tried just about all of the more polular weather apps on the Play Store. This has the cleanest, most attractive interface, and is easiest to navigate. The main screen is packed with just about any information you might need. I turned off the photo; it looks nice, but wastes space. Love the app. Subscribed immediately. Very happy that I gave it a try.
My favorite weather app on Android, hands down. Simple, clean, and brilliant interface. Gives me all the information I want/need and nothing I don't, with plenty of options for customization, too. Love the fact that you can select a source to choose the most accurate one. Well worth purchasing premium. If I had any complaints, I wish the radar showed the past 2-3 hours like other radar maps, rather than the future prediction it currently does. If it has a way to change this, I can't find it.
Easy-to-read interface design that I find useful and aesthetically pleasing. The types of weather info provided are helpful. Also, I like the animated visualization of the wind speed. And I appreciate the dark mode display-easy on my eyes. IMO, a well-designed app.
I like the design, especially the super dark theme. I think the "detail" section would be much more useful with the wind speed/direction instead of visibility, UV level, or pressure. Or make it customizable along with the order of the main sections. Having to scroll nearly all the way to the bottom just to find out the wind is crazy.
Needed a replacement for DarkSky and like the general clean look of this app. Enough that I paid for a subscription. However, I would really like to request the ability to rearrange the order of the information. For example i'd like to have current weather map to be the top most item, not the last. Speaking of maps, i'd be nice to have more view options for the map as well. Some small improvements and this could be a five star app.
I think this is a solid replacement for Dark Sky's unfortunate transition. I really like the design behind the app as well as the amount of information given to you (Air quality, Allergy count and Dew point). What I would like to see an improvement on is the radar. I like where it's going. However, it could be more solidified when moving around as well as the look when it comes to using Google maps for the overlay. Overall, this is a solid app that needs a few minor tweaks to stand out.
I really like this app. It has a lot of great info. I like the widget because you can click on the clock and it brings up your alarms or click the weather and it brings that up (without going to the web). Unfortunately I have a new wall paper that is white where I have this and I can no longer see the widget. The stock weather widget has a semitransparent gray background. This one does allow for showing pictures but it takes up an extra row which I don't want to do. I'd come back if fixed.
Looks great, love the UI. However, I don't like the way you add other locations. I shouldn't have to add a location to just look at weather in another city. Then I have to go delete them later. I also had a lot of issues where I'd be looking at the overview of the weather and it would say "30% snow" but when you click on its says we're supposed to get 6 or 7 inches. It makes it seem incredibly inaccurate. Sometimes I also don't get weather alerts when they're active on other sites/apps.
Beautiful interface, probably my favorite of all the weather apps. But, and this is a big but, the weather always seems to be off... Like it doesn't update frequently enough. It actually says high chance of right now, and I look outside and it's sunny. The Weather Channel says the rain is coming this afternoon. I always find myself having to check the Weather Channel to validate this data.
I love the app, its design and it's features. I have for many years. Unfortunately, lately it has been consistently giving inaccurate information for my home location including current and predicted temp and precipitation. I thought powered by NOAA itself would be the gold standard. I think NOAA is, especially since it's gotten two new supercomputers. Now if they'd do something about their app I'd be thrilled.
