Reviews for Stitcher - Podcast Player
Love love love this app!! There are so many shows available for free. There is a website version as well. I love that the phone app allows you to make collections to organize your fave podcasts. For example I have "Science facts pods", "true crime", "Spooky pods", "History pods" etc.
not perfect, but... i like it better than other apps because its really easy to make playlists and keep track of all your podcasts. also its easy to make a queue, download episodes, sort episodes by oldest to newest or visa versa. other good stuff. so yeah, stitcher is my favorite. dont like their web app though.
A Good looking app that's pretty well organized. However, in a 45 minute podcast, I'll get an error that stops play, and is a whole ordeal to make play again, about 4 or 5 times. Which is really weird seeming as you have to pay $5 a month for an app that only kind of does the thing it's supposed to... I know this is a well known problem and have submitted it to the developers.
This app consistently interrupts playback when the screen shuts off. It's maddening. I've gone through all the BS the developer claims I need to do regarding battery permissions and disabling battery saver, and the problem persists. They act like this is a problem caused by Android OS and its battery settings, but NO OTHER APP HAS THESE ISSUES. Deezer, Pandora, Pocket Casts, Prime Music, Spotify, Tidal, and YouTube Music all work FLAWLESSLY. And I PAY for this. Fix your garbage app.
Worse and worse with every update. Has gotten to the point that playback stops every 15 to 20 minutes while the timer continues. If I try to move it back, it says trouble playing the episode, and I must restart. These combined with no listen history ruin the experience.
I have been a stitcher user for years. It was my favorite platform. Even through the awful UI update, I have tried to hold on, but I am done. When your app can no longer do the one thing it is meant to, aka let me listen to podcasts, what is the point? It constantly restarts. I've changed phones and it will still only play 3-5 minutes before cutting off. I am just sick of fighting with an app that will not work at all.
I don't understand why, for the past year or so, this app has been such a nightmare. Randomly it'll skip forward or backwards a couple minutes. And also randomly I'll unplug my aux jack and the audio will keep playing, even with my phone's volume all the way down so I won't even know until I try to finish what I was listening to and realize it's over. I can go weeks without issue, then come back with a vengeance. Stitcher really has been circling the drain of its own toilet
