Reviews for Star Walk 2 Ads+ Sky Map View
Great app for learning about our sky. I particularly like the notifications letting me know when and where to see thing like meteor showers, planets, etc. The ability to hold it out and have it actually show you what's in front of you is great. It tracks your orientation and location (when using the app) to give you an accurate picture of the sky. Likewise you can search for specific items and use the app to help locate them.
Awesome sky app. Well worth the small fee to remove ads. Couple things that bother me: 1. The very frequent request to recalibrate. Almost every time I open the app, I have to recalibrate. My navigation app never needs that. 2. The pop-up notifications need to have a timestamp. For example: "ISS will rise in one hour." That's great, but if I don't see that notification when it comes in, I have no idea when it came in and therefore don't know when the hour is up.
Edit: I was under the impression that all Samsung phones automatically came with a magnetometer because they used to, even the cheapest models, but apparently they don't any more. This is not even a component they usually list when going over the features because it's normally a given. It's something everyone should be aware of when purchasing a new phone. Since this is the reason I cannot use the app in realtime, I changed my review to reflect how the app functions without the magnetometeter.
