Reviews for QR Code Reader and Scanner
Easy, simple to use and highly secured! A must have scanning app in the digital world that we lived in nowadays. What is lovely about this app is that there is no ads to it! Highly recommended to every other person out there looking for a QR barcode scanner!
Kaspersky QR scanner I just downloaded is literally the first and only QR scanner I have tried that actually works on my phone which I've now had for over 4 years. I've tried so many scanners but for some reason my phone simply won't do QR code scans until this Kaspersky scanner. I also have Kaspersky for security so I really should have known to try this scanner years ago and saved myself the four years of frustration!
This is a great scanner. It reads codes that Google Lens simply doesn't (same phone/camera). That said, I originally downloaded this to test artsy codes I was making myself. If you're doing the same, this scanner is too good to tell you when built-in scanners will fail (I know that sounds silly but it was a caveat I didn't expect). Only use for scanning codes, not testing your own.
Not bad. Many times after the scan, the link gets hanged & one is not able to perform the operation. But overall does a decent job.
I use the app for Safe Entry check ins. If there's an option to facilitate opening in browser by default, I'll add one star. Presently, I have one extra step to open in browser. If the history could be selectively deleted (instead of all) that'll be another star. Otherwise, it basically does its job, but UI could be better.
Almost every code I scan is flagged as "Dangerous Link" and the warning is hard to bypass. The main reason I went with this app was the recognizable Kaspersky name where there are many scetch QR code apps on the Play Store, but I eventually had to stop using it because the warnings got too annoying
I like most Kaspersky products but Trend Micro offers a much better QR scanner. When you scan a restaurant menu, for example, Kaspersky does not let you zoom in on the picture (!), making it almost impossible to read the text. Trend Micro is a lot more flexible that way. I am giving a generous 2 stars.
Installed and spent 45 mins reading all their legal mumbo jumbo, accepted, then was taken to a screen asking me to allow or deny access to camera, and no matter how many times I selected allow (or deny), nothing happens.. Restarting app results in same issue.. Reboot tablet, same deal.. Uninstalling then reinstalling, get stuck at same step.. Uninstalled and off to look for something that works.. All in all, 2 hrs I'll never get back... Samsung Tab A... Android OS version 8.1.0
Be careful what you touch, even so it's going to download a separate app called robo killer and you have no option. You'll have to find it and uninstall it. The QR scanner doesn't do anything more than read out a few numbers, doesn't take you to a site or show you anything that has to do with the product you're scanning. So sad, up till this moment I considered Kaspersky a reputable company.
After installing this app, it scans the code and stores the text of the code into its history, then that's it. It does nothing after that. Seeing the comments from others, it is working perfectly as designed, but the design doesn't meet the expectations of actually doing anything beyond scanning.
