This is the best chess app I have ever played. Features bots to play by yourself or even a friend online. You can play against randoms and there's a lot of people always playing. I get lost sometimes, playing hours in just one sitting. You can watch others play as well. Lots of tutorials and everything is free. Personalization is great with the choice of the backgrounds and pieces to choose from. No pop-up adds or promotions. Can play both on computer or mobile. User friendly, would recommend.

I really love Lichess, it would be nice if it had an option to upload a background or change the colors for the material, my eyes have a hard time, it would also be cool if you could change the size of the coordinates theyre hard to see for me, and so have a hard time remembering things. Just a comment, otherwise keep up the good work!

Best app for chess hands down. It has eberything an has been my favorite for 2 years now. Only one thing with last update... can not toggle down some screens like for language selection etc. Also screen size might be too big for my cell and i dont know how to fix it. Is it possible to go back to previous versions? Otherwise this app is perfect.

Love the app, the only issue I am having is that on my new phone (Samsung Fold 2) while in full screen mode (both screens) i can't access the options at the bottom of the screen. For example, when doing puzzles, I can't get to the replay option, as they are behind the phone menu and I don't see any way of scrolling down the page.

PLEASE PLEASE add a takeback feature after being checkmated when playing the computer. I like to play the computer to practice and being able to quickly take back one move after being checkmated would be an invaluable learning tool for improving my endgame and recognizing mating patterns. I know that I can open the analysis and select "play from position," but taking back one move would be much easier.

If you accidentally hit the back button it'll exit your game with no prompt and ban you for a certain amount of time. Also if your opponent leaves the game you have to wait for the clock to run down. But if they leave there's no option for then to come back to the game yet you still have to wait. Just end the game as soon as someone leaves and give me a prompt so I don't accidentally end the game. Also changing apps on my phone will reset my other apps so I can't even change the app on my phone. Just poor execution with this app in things that are so easily avoided

Great community, but needs technical fixes. Far too many often, at the end of a blitz game, the app freezes and I can't select any move, causing me to run out of time as I helplessly tap all around the screen. Also, pairings are slow in tournaments. It seems like there's a delay on the backend.

This app is excellent it course, but it has flaws. An annoying number of the chess puzzles are terrible, and there's no way to filter them out based on ratings, which makes no sense. The board themes are strange: there's no straight ahead black + white, solid colors like red or blue + white. The newspaper theme should have darker blacks and a lighter background. The only theme that actually looks good is the green plastic, and maybe purple. It would be nice to have a better choice.
