Reviews for File Manager
I have used this for a long time and it's always worked extremely well. One feature I wish it had is a clipboard of previous searches. So if you search your Android device for a file name you have to retype it each time. I have also used it for access to my Google drive and other cloud drives and it works really well. It has other features like unzipping and rar which worked just fine. No complaints I like it
You can move/paste or copy/paste images quickly and easily. You can rename images as well, again easily. You can sort files and folders by name, size, date, type or no sort. You can -- Add to Home Screen (shortcut) -- any files or folders. You can Add Bookmarks (favorites), then use the swipe-out (fly-out) menu to tap and go there directly. EDIT: A recent update included the option to Rotate images within the app -- 90° each tap.
A great replacement. I used a super old version of ES File Explorer for ages (before it became a bloated mess and subsequently taken off of the Play Store). Sadly, it's starting to become incompatible with newer devices, so I'm having to move one from it. I'm glad I came across this app, because it feels just as good to use! Thanks!
"ES File Explorer" used to be my "go to" app for Android file management, but it's turned into a three-ring advertisement circus. Ads seem to be more important to the developers of that app than security, since more and more holes seem to crop up, allowing unauthorized file access. Have they fixed all of them yet? Who knows. This app is superior in every way, with a totally uncluttered and simple interface which provides outstanding function in accessing both internal and cloud storage. Absolutely great job, and I now recommend it to everyone I know.
I didn't keep the app long. I was fearful I would lose important files. The option to "move" files has an icon of scissors (are we cutting?) and when you attempt to move the file to a new spot it gives you the option to "paste" (not "move"). I liked the overall look of the app itself. It's why I chose it. Keep the look but change the options to make them more clear to the users. I would try this app again if the options were more user friendly.
I use File Manager + to edit, crop, and organize images into folders. After a recent update when I crop images they move to a Markup folder. There is no setting to change this behavior. I want the edited images to stay in the same location as the original. (I actually want the original overwritten but that has never been an option.) Therefore I am changing my rating.
