Reviews for ESET Mobile Security Antivirus
I use ESet on my desktop, 2 laptops, 2 cell phones. It's got a small footprint, and so far has kept my wife's & my PCs & phones safe. I highly recommend it. However, in looking thru the update notes to this new version, i don't see any bug fixes or features, just marketing updates to make premium the default for a couple weeks to get us hooked, then hopefully default back to the free version I've used on my phone (I have full paid subscriptions for all my PCs).
I've had ESET for many years. Maybe 10.?? 5☆ for antivirus. I'm having other problems. Everything is fast, upon occasion, like once to thirty times a month, it becomes very very slow or unresponsive on two 3 year old units. Restart usually works. Sometimes only for five minutes. Factory reset does nothing more. Then really fast again for long times. But never a problem with ESET!
The best, hands down. I've purchased other subscription based security apps that incessantly urge you to purchase their other related products "for complete protection". With ESET, you know what you're getting, you don't have to deal with spam from the company, your device is protected, and you won't see drop in battery life, at least I haven't. Thanks for making mobile security easy. I've even changed my desktop antivirus to ESET's Premium Protection.
Best of them all!!! I have a cheap UMX phone thru Assurance Wireless, lifeline phone for the poor. It came loaded with an installer that cannot be removed or your phone won't receive updates. I tried Norton and Malwarebytes and others, they all alerted to the same issue but didn't stop the constant, intrusive adware that virtually rendered the phone unusable. Eset told me what to do and though I couldn't remove the android installer Eset did away with the intrusive ads and videos! ♥
So I was having some fun the past few days and experimenting with different apk files and some how one of them turned out to be malware. I really didn't feel like booting my phone into safe mode to find the app that obviously was hiding and not showing up in my phone anymore. I was sceptical at first of this but honestly it's the easiest thing just to let it scan and remove the stuff for you, it found the malicious files for me and now there are no more random ads. Thanks, ESET.
I've used ESET in the past on computers and never had any issues. Seems to be pretty good, I actually like the fact it scans for longer than 1 min like other top make apps. I just don't think it's possible to scan everyone that quickly. Also seems to be a pretty lightweight program, haven't noticed any new lagging since installing.
Just installed. Will give more stars when I've used it and it earns it. When you first open the app, it shows that you're on a 7 day Free Trial version, but it does Not indicate that you can have the Free version indefinitely. If you can use the Free Version without getting the Upgraded version, you should actually State it. Upgrades should be an Option since some may not want or need the upgraded version.
It stopped locking my apps. It has a feature that locks apps you select, requiring you to enter a pin to open the app. I used this for a few apps, and it randomly stopped locking them. Had to re-add the apps to the lock selection. Frankly, it could've ended badly. I let my co-workers and friends use my phone sometimes since my banking apps and gallery are locked. Who knows how long ago it removed those apps from the locked list. This is a large security concern, who knows if it will do it again.
