Reviews for Dev Tycoon - Idle Games
This game has a lot of potential. It's fun, doesn't require pay-to-win, and not a crazy amount of grinding. Love the customization of games and styles. There are a few things I'd LOVE to see fixed for this to get the 5 stars it deserves: The grammatical errors (which is minor honestly). Some genres of games are a bit redundant (Space, UFO, and Alien for example, seem pretty similar), so maybe make them all one. And an actual list to keep track of all your games and maybe some fan reviews
DevTycoon 2 is too simplistic and buggy to spend your money on. UI is awful. They need to make it take time and effort to make a game so that it feels like somewhat of an achievement when you finish a game. They also need to track the games you release as well as fan feedback. Surprisingly the best thing about this game is the soundtrack which is why it gets 3 stars rather than 2.
Not too bad, never played the first one but I'm having a blast with this version. I like the fact it's offline and saves progress, allowing you to play anywhere, the concept is fun enough and separate from all the damn idle clickers. I enjoy it and definitely recommend. Good time killer, easy to follow tutorial that doesn't drag on and make you buy meaningless stuff, and a solid concept. Tycoons always work well on Mobile, and this shows that.
It's not the best game with it's premise; however, it's executed pretty well and is a good first entry into these kinds of games. I haven't played too long but there is one main setback that I've noticed in my short time playing. It penalizes you for working too much, however once you start, there is no take a break button. I think this is to make you choose between time and bugs but it isn't a good idea in practice. Worth a try.
Game takes a little longer to figure out than its prequel, but by no means is hard to get. Gameplay is simple and looooads of fun especially if you're a fan of min maxing things. I'm gonna keep playing for a hot minute on this bad boy since it doesn't absolutely pummel your face in with ads, and there aren't any forced ones. All are optional, and only assist the games pace. It's nice since the game flows quick enough as is, so the ads aren't needed to get through anything.
Fun for a couple hours, then plummets. I've noticed that the top 10 games are actually the bottom 10 games.. please fix. Will keep playing to unlock midsize games when I get the right amount of research points. Please name them research points everywhere. It took me a while to realize "science points" were the same thing and I thought they were disappearing. Fyi in the tutorial "I've *taught you everything I know" instead of teached. All in all very buggy and incomplete game. I don't recommend.
Uh... a few issues... so... my games aren't showing on top 10, I'll make a game that does way better than my number one, but my top 10 list doesn't change, the game I just made went into the void, and sometimes it will change the top game, and the number one game previously will disappear, even though there were nine more below it that should have been taken off the list before it, so pretty much the top ten list is messed up.
The gameplay loop is so repetitive, and yet it never really gets boring. It's perfectly on the tightrope between the same thing over and over and having no order of gameplay. I feel like the switch in studio from big office to literal spaceship was a bit jarring and the russian>english obviously isn't perfect, but apart from that, nothing really wrong with it. There are a bearable amount of forced ads, which I'm fine with. I recommend it. *Now, there are slightly too many ads but still playable
Good concept but poor execution. Menus constantly pop-up over each other. Time doesn't pause in menus so when tapping to increase skill you can accidentally click game sliders cause they're in the same place. The main screen that tells you sales data isn't compact so you can't see your income without hiding other important data. I play on a tablet and the game needs polish. If it gets it, it'll be a decent game.
Some bugs - the top 10 games by money/rating doesn't work properly since I have 10.0 games that show up for top by money but don't even appear on the top by rating screen. And there's minor stuff like UI optimization could be tweaked, for example I don't think you can refill energy from a studio, only from home? At the same time though, I *never* play mobile games. Like 2 or 3 since getting a phone at all. And I'm actually playing this one. So it's good. Definitely worth trying.
