Reviews for Cytus II
I was very skeptical when my friend told me to get this game. I never got rhythm games before, because I thought They would be too difficult. But My friend convinced me to buy the gave anyway. And I have been a convert ever since. The developers did a good Job of including alot of different songs and levels. So I can improve and move on at my own pace. Also the store line is pretty fun. Get the game! It's good!
Amazing game, the base game at the least. The $3 or whatever the price is of the original game is completely worth it, with many soundtracks and charts that are amazing. I haven't had a chance to get the DLC as the $10 for each pack is a bit pricey for me, but I trust the devs in that they have good content. I have 1 gripe that doesn't really affect my score, and it is how when using two thumbs they block the screen. Perfect game, though!
The biggest issue I have is the notes I hit are not registering. Especially in hard mode. I had taken care of any other factors such as sweaty fingers, or a dirty screen. I knew that having to restart the level many times due to thinking I was going insane when I wasn't hitting those notes when I really was, I was able to know the placement of said notes. Even the easy notes in where they came up once, when I tapped them, hard or soft, they had a good chance of not registering for me.
Well, I'm not one for story-heavy games, so take this with a grain of salt, but the big issue is the layout. There are way too many tabs and menus, nothing labeled, notifications everywhere unlocking things I can't tell what they are, bits of story and game all over the place, and ZERO guidance. I took a couple minutes to even find the songs, still can't find some that were labeled as unlocked, and in short, you have confused and intimidated me into quitting before I could play a single song.
Used to be my favorite game, but the removal of offline play is a deal breaker for me. Not sure what Rayark was thinking with that. Game data cannot be transferred between operating systems, and the leaderboard system is a joke. With that said, in terms of gameplay this is the best rhythm game out there. Great songs, handles smoothly, and a nice range of difficulty. Great story as well. I really want to give this game 5 stars and keep buying DLC, but there's just too many deal breakers.
This game is honestly great. The plot is interesting and immersive, the music is top notch, and the new note system is beautiful. However, I think it would be better to increase the upfront price of the game and have all the characters unlocked with dlc available that isn't necessary for the plot of the game. The game as it is now feels really incomplete with major plot points locked behind a paywall.
I found the game during one of the free intervals, and loved it. The graphics and UI are slick, the songs are fun and challenging, the story more intense and detailed than I expected. They really thought out this fictional world. There are unfortunately drawbacks: all the DLC is drastically overpriced. I've purchased the extra characters, but only on sale. They're all quite fun too -- just wait for the regular sales!
Good game, wonderful mechanics, song list is varied and has something for everyone. However, if you don't feel like shilling off 120+ bucks for everything it has to offer, don't bother getting this game. The low initial price might seem worth it, but having a good chunk of the inner details of the lore and songlist hung on a stick is a horrible marketing strategy. I was only lucky to have all the characters unlocked because of a 1-time offer, which reduced the initial $80 for characters to $35.
fun rhythm game over all with a very nice twist. instead of the bar staying in place, it moves up and down. which makes you have to take into consideration which note should be prioritized, either up or down. there are four types of note/beats; tap, trace, hold, and fill. three settings of difficulties; easy, hard, and chaotic. and most purchases are at $4.99.
It's got really good music, no ads, soundtracks are challenging, gameplay is pretty fastpaced and makes you move your fingers alot which makes for a pretty cool feeling experience, it has a variety of characters and songs, some songs have vocals while others don't which I think adds to the variety, and on top of all of that it's gotta story. Honestly I don't think there's much more to ask from a rhythm game. 10/10 would recommend to strangers.
