Reviews for Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter
I really think the game should be updated with new features. It would be really cool to have the ability to climb any buildings like Watch Towers on some islands. Have more weapon options and probably a couple of more islands. I enjoy this game and I want it to further develop. I know it takes work and time to do new updates but it's worth it. I think it would also be neat to kill the long neck dinosaurs (pardon me I don't remember the name) and get some credits. Thank you for the time.
Growing up as a kid I had the first and second Carnivores games on pc. They are some of my all time favorites. And honestly I think this is a great mobile port that combines the two of them. Runs great on my s21 ultra, and the pricing is pretty fair for a free to play game. Also everything can be earned unlock ingame. Though it can be pretty grindy after awhile.
I remember when this game was on Demoland like 100 years ago. I loooved it. It was my way to escape and explore after a day of being physically abused as a child. I'm so glad they made it an app. And the new dinosaurs and textures are icing. I remember ordering Ice Age and Cityscape with the checkbook I got when I turned 12. The feeling when the games came in the mail was ecstasy. So many good times.. if I had to critique one thing, I will say the recent Carnivores 2 was suuch a disappointment.. Only three weapons, and the graphics and detail for a game made in today's age were terrible. They could have easily made another masterpiece with it but I feel as though they rushed through it for some reason. If they ever made a new carnivores game, with good weapon and dinosaur selection, "and npc dinos, insects," with good AI, and great atmospheric/immersive detail and sound I'd play the f#%÷ out of it. But until then I'll always be a fan of the franchise and it'll always hold a place in my heart. Thank you for all the enjoyment and happiness carnivores team!
Awesome game I really enjoy it awesome graphics and challenging hunts the amount of detail that went into making ever single map and dinosaur is absolutely jaw dropping, controls are simple and easy to figure out, and one feature that's really awesome is the observer mode which is super helpful, survival mode is lots of fun the only problem that I have with this game is that you have to pay for a lot of things which I think is really stupid
Super fun game. But very glitchy. It's hard to aim and fire at a dinok because the aiming will be jumpy and skip around and the guns don't always fire when you press the button, I have to click it 5-7 times before it will shoot. Please fix this game and the ice age one because I would like to continue playing them, but I can't if they continue to glitch and crash
I mean it's Carnivores, so you can expect what's up. Tatem seems to have abandoned this port and it's a real shame. Hard to keep turning without jumping and compromising my sneaking up on the dinos. There NEEDS to be bluetooth controller support, the touchscreen controls only lessen the experience. Tatem is a well known do-nothing developer though, so it likely will never happen.
This game would get five stars if it weren't for two huge flaws. 1) It continually wipes my progress. I've unlocked the T-Rex 4 times now only to find it locked with my points gone after I come back. This is really annoying. 2) The monetization actively makes the game worse. Having to pay for ammunition for anything other than the pistol sucks. The PC version and and previous versions of this did not have that. There is no option to pay to remove garbage like the excessive penny pinching and ads.
So the gameplay is fine and I paid 5 dollars to have double credit value for kills permanently enacted, however for some reason after unlocking certain items (this has happened multiple times now) they will become locked again randomly with no warning. Ill close the app with the unlocked items and open it up again and they will be locked again, my credits gone and progress erased. Like I never even played the game and it reversed back a few days. Needless to say this is very frustrating.
Almost manages to be fun. Some very simple changes and it would actually be playable. Maps are frustrating to get around on, with waaaaay too many impassable barriers. Targets are spaced too far apart. Those two mechanics are probably designed to sell fast-travels for cash. Shot placement (headshot vs body shot vs limbs) doesn't seem to matter at all. Generally makes for a boring, repetitive experience.
I played this game a decade ago and saw it on the app store and had some nostalgia, and decided to download it! Wow how much the game has changed, and not for the better! I would much rather pay like a $4 or $5 game (like it was originally) than have to buy resupplies, relocates, and ammo for the guns other than a pistol. I hate how classic apps changed things for the worse, it makes me so sad.
