Absolute scam, bbc app you have to pay a subscription to use. Why do i have to pay for content funded by the tv licence fee especially when the content is free on the web?

Loving the app so far.

Haven't been able to log into the app for weeks, I just get an error message. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling, no response from my enquiries. Like others have said, it used to be great, but the new version is awful and now doesn't even work for me, despite paying for a subscription. Incredibly disappointed.

I absolutely love this app. But for some reason, all I'm getting is the loading screen. Its just not loading at all.

It seems you can't use the app without paying. This wasn't made clear before download.

Huge variety of great recipes. Especially helpful if you have dietary requirements to cater for.

Disappointed!! In the modern age where most things can be googled, to try and charge people a monthly subscription fee for an app is simply ridiculous. BBC Food used to be my 'go to' for good recipes. But there's no way that I'm paying $7 a month to access it. That's how much a TV Streaming service costs!! And you get a lot more for your money. There are other ways to fund the app that trying to make a quick buck by slugging people a ridiculously high fee. I'll be uninstalling it as a result.

Good app if you have £10 to waste. You cannot view recipes unless you pay £10 which is honestly really bizarre! All I want to do is cook myself some fruit porridge. Don't download app, just search recipes on the internet.

Download app. It is easier to get banking online sorted than to register. Deleted app.

Used the app for years, it was wonderful. Then the subscription came, initially it was subscribe if you want, if not you could access saved recipes only. I have now realised to view any recipe you have to subscribe, such a shame, with the cost of living crisis, forcing people into yet another subscription 😡 In response to the reply, defeats the object having to login on the website after years of the ease of use of the app. Reinstate the ability to view saved recipes via the app would be better
