Reviews for Ballz
This might be a nitpick, but why do I have to tap the pause button a thousand times to get it to work?? Super annoying. I have also noticed that some bricks disappear even when they have not been hit, which I honestly don't mind as it has kept me from losing the game several times lol. Other thank these small issues, I love this game! It's a classic.
This game has a lot going for it. For a free app game, it's very well made with a lot of polish. The only items in the game are cosmetic, so you don't have to worry about microtransactions. Learning how the balls bounce and making perfect shots to clear the whole screen is very satisfying. My only complaint is sometimes the random number generation is unfair and I lose to an endless wave of blocks rather than due to lack of skill. A decent time killer, but still shallow as far as video games go.
I used to love this app. I used it all the time, but then I realized that the amount of balls you have can hit a box with the same amount and for some reason the box will have 2-9 left after all the balls have hit it dead-on. Then I would watch ads for extended play only to have it re-start from the beginning anyway. Super frustrating. I'm going to uninstall.
Pretty good time killer. The controls for shooting the ball are real dumb, plus every time this app opens it mutes the music or podcast playing on my phone. That should be fixed, it's annoying as hell. Because depending on how you turn the music back on, switching back to this app will just shut it off again. I think I would rate 4 stars if it weren't for the sound issue as well as better point and shoot control
Too easy. Once you get past level 150 or so, it gets to where clearing the field after every other play becomes almost automatic. I'm at level 750 now, and I keep waiting for it to get harder, but it keeps getting easier. I'm bored with this one. Update: I keep plodding away...been running the same game for a couple of weeks now.....UPDATE.... I'm up to level 1600. This game is more fidget spinner than challenge. The only rewarding part of it is watching the balls fill the screen, which can be quite entertaining. ...UPDATE...At level 1600, it takes about three minutes to finish one turn. Since the "zoom" feature doesn't work at these levels, there's no practical way to speed it up. At this point, I keep my phone by my desk and run a few moves an hour, letting the ballz pound away while I do other things. I still keep waiting for this game to get difficult, but it seems like it keeps getting easier. Once you understand how to get maximum impact out of each move, you pretty much expect to clear the field every time. ...UPDATE...Ok, I'm now up to level 1800. Going to bail out on this, and here's why: Not only is there no challenge, it takes FOREVER. My most recent move took 3 minutes, 25 seconds. I ran some numbers. In order to get to the all time high score (10,000 levels!) would take 63 DAYS of continuous game play...as in around the clock, with no breaks between moves. The last move (at level 10,000) would take almost 19 minutes alone just to run out.
I used to love this game, and still do. But find myself playing less and less as it's annoying when you get to the higher levels and it takes forever to complete. It never used to do that and now suddenly the speed up function lags terribly and I'm not good at being patient and only end up very annoyed. I see there has not been an update since 2017 so seems the creators have abandoned this game. It would also be nice to have other things to use the rings on.
Used to be good. After most recent update there are now ads that didn't used to be there. After I declined to let them harvest additional data, one game feature stopped working. I can no longer fast forward in game, so any level above 100 now takes way too long. I love this game and used to play for hours and have gotten to levels beyond 2000. Unfortunately this is no longer possible as it would take over 10 minutes to play a single level that high without the fast forward feature. You suck
This used to be one of my favorite apps. One of the few I passed for, but the lack of fast forward is terrible (and particularly annoying considering the button is still there, just not working). The previous bug where squares just vanish wasn't totally fixed even with the update, but that was less annoying because at least the game was still playable.
I keep getting really far into the game, then all of a sudden it will start itself over at the beginning again on level 1. I don't die, it just stats itself over. The first time I was up over level 2700... and it started itself over. The last two times, I have been around level 1400 or 1500 and it starts itself over without me dying. It must be some sort of glitch, and it's very frustrating. Not worth downloading if you can't go as far as your abilities in the game.
Used to have this game and added it back because I liked how simple and satisfying the play and visuals were. Now the control mechanism is completely counterintuitive--slide toward the bottom to aim, not toward the block you want to hit; slide left to aim right, slide right to aim left... And it's far too sensitive! Veers wildly around, can't aim precisely. Tried for two levels and can't stand it any more.
