Reviews for AIMP
This is similar to winamp but now like an old school came with your phone music player... But this plays flac and aac... Not just mp3 ogg and wave. BUT NO ADS! The playlists can be grouped by artist, or album or song... Or if you like audio books just track title. And automatically lists then in track order if the tracks have numbers, otherwise it's alphabetically Basically this is great, only wants access to the music. No iffy weirdness or wanting access to your phone or contacts!
If you read other reviews, you may be apprehensive, which is why I'm writing my first review ever just to make sure this app gets the hype it deserves. You get a solid music player with an intuitive interface (I needed no tutorial). You can play sound files so you don't need streaming capability, which matters for those of us in rural or remote places. There are no ads to put up with. As for the notification bar on Android, I simply turned off the notifications in my phone settings. Easy peasy.
I had a heck of a time getting this thing to work on an old Galaxy Grand Prime that I use just to play music. I tried adding songs manually several times. But no matter how many times I tapped on the folders, nothing was added. After uninstalling it and reinstalling it for the fourth time, the app and phone decided to play well together and stop the nonsense. All my songs are now showing up in the folders they were loaded into, which doubles as the individual playlists. Thanks. Great app!!!
So far, the best app for listening to audio files. Great interface, easy to use, no fuss. A few glitches, but definitely better than many others including audio listening files by Google and Amazon. I can easily configure it to read a set of audio files in any folder, name those lists, go back, fast forward and rewind using ok Google on my Android phone. Good job guys.
It plays literally any and all formats of audio files, and as far as I can tell at a bit perfect resolution. I tried using Fiio's player before this, and this is leagues better in terms of: user-friendliness, battery conservation, and audio quality. Using a set of DT 177X GO the difference is phenomenal between the two players. The only minor complaint I have is that the downloadable user interface themes won't import for some reason. (They won't show up even if I put them in their own folder.)
Incredible. How is this free? I recently converted my 1,000 CDs to MP3s. So I needed a good mp3 player, and came across this. I am so glad I tried it. It is absolutely perfect! I have two SD cards full of music, 500 albums on each. This player plays an entire folder, then goes to the next. Just as I wanted. The hell with playlists, this is what I needed exactly. So it goes through every folder and keeps on playing. When I stop it, and come back to listen to more, it picks up where it left off. The album art is a plus as well. Thank you!!!!!
Great free alternative to Play Music or other similar apps. The ability to scale the UI is incredibly useful for someone with clumsy fingers. The only things I'd like to see added to this app are the ability to scale the lock screen mini control bar, and an option to ignore the word 'The' when sorting alphabetically, Ex. bands whose titles begin with 'the' would be sorted next to the first letter in their name following 'the', not all sorted to the letter 'T' in like it does now.
Great media player, would be greater if I was given the choice to not have it autoplay after a phone call. Super annoying to not be given the option to turn it off. I'm not using it until that's addressed, it's just too annoying. In response, no, even if it wasn't playing it starts playing....i have an idea, might be autoplaying on Bluetooth connection, not on phone call, or both. Get back to you on that.
I really wanted to like this app. It's clean, works well, and has plenty of features. The deal breaker was how aggressive it was in taking control of my media play/pause buttons. I could be watching a YouTube video with the app closed and doing nothing, then pause the video with my headphones. Instead of resuming the video with the same button, it would instead play music through this app. Every setting available did not fix this. I had to uninstall for a different app to fix the problem.
Very disappointing. Very cool EQ with nice pre-sets and Noozy integration. Love being able to customize the theme. Too bad it won't play music on my device. I tried and tried, but it will not play music in any format on my device, so all the fancy extras are completely worthless to me. 2 stars, one for no ads, and one for a good idea.
