I love 9gag, and the app works pretty well. My biggest complaint is that my phone gets so hot after a few minutes of opening it, and drains my battery so quickly! I can't even use it anymore. Maybe a quality/graphics setting can be put in so I can put my graphics at a lower rate. Anything to stop draining my battery in an hour or so.

Like many other people who have reviewed recently, ads are auto playing with sound. Even when there isn't one on screen. It just plays in the background randomly and have no idea where it's coming from. It happens every 4 minutes or so. I get you need ad revenue but this is too much and I have to delete the app until fixed. I've been on 9gag for 3000+ days. Don't make me do this devs. I really don't wanna download ifunny.

I don't mind the ads, I understand that if we want to use this app for free there will be ads while scrolling. But in the passed week or so, there has been nothing but autoplay ads with music playing and no way to mute them. They still play even after closing the app and have to force close in order it to stop. Uninstalling until this gets fixed.

Overall a great app as I've been a long-time 9gag fan. My only issue with it is that as you go on using it, it starts lagging and increasingly gets worse the longer you're on the app. At a certain point the lagging and freezing gets so bad that I'd have to kill the app and re-open it and find where I left off and the cycle repeats.

This app should be renamed to "9ads". So many ads that I can't use the app anymore without my device lagging and the app crashing and not responding!! Had this problem with multiple versions and devices, and I see other reviews mentioning this, as well as the abnormal CPU and battery consumption!! Also, the unusual and suspicious data usage. 10+ GB!!

Stupid ad placement. It's at the bottom edge of the our phones and makes me prioritize 9gag as the last option for time killing, since I have to carefully press and maneuver around the ad. Also, my phone lags so much when I have 9gag opened, about half of the time. Are I close and reset the app, my phone goes right back to normal. Galaxy S9 here. Anyway, fun meme app. However, it used to be much better.

Can't run this app anymore. Ads refresh too often and has been causing the phone to react poorly. Three months ago, same phone, no issues other than ads still refreshing too fast that it causes gifs and videos to reset. As for content, it's all the same rehashed content that the internet has been pumping out since 2009 and earlier. No longer interested.

Constantly crashing, I try to scroll and it glitches like a broken record. Anytime I try to view a video the video freezes (along with the ap) and I have to force close it. When it does work It will play videos when they are not even on screen, forcing me to scroll around to find and mute it. If only I could post screenshots/videos of how crappy this app is so you could see. I have never encountered an app this bad. Although I do love the we browser version as it doesn't have these issues

Major problems with the software itself and with the community. The app has a memory leak issue. It will quickly slow down to a crawl, elements will freeze, text boxes and posting won't work. Closing and restarting the app will typically fix it but only short term. Second, as this is a waning social media platform it is of course just full of the alt right. Granted it seems the majority are non north Americans pretending to be as such but it's still a cesspool. Hate speech is rampant.

I've been a long time user. This been fun and a great app until now. The app now plays commercials with sound even when the sound is muted. When the commercial plays theres no way to stop it except close the app. This means if you're scrolling in a public place or work, suddenly your phone will randomly start playing the commercial audio loudly. Screw this app, I'll find another app. Uninstalled.
